New toys

I got some new toys…

Linear actuators with impressive XYZ load and XYZ torque moment capability, about 560mm long.

The first step was to remove the cover and wipe off as much old grease as possible…

The factory grease and the correct-spec replacement grease I have bought are beige in colour… so this suspicious red grease needs to go.

For now these are going into my stores long-term until I can find a suitable 3rd actuator then I have XYZ… watch this space (though these are rare beasts so might take some time).

Nice. How many ££?

Many ££.

My consolation is that if I bought decent ballscrews and linear slides and did it DIY, it would cost me more, and many tens of hours of fettling to get everything parallel.
