Hi all, the Surrey Electronic Makers and Radio Club are looking for a speaker to give a short talk on getting started in 3D Printing with a view to our members buying a printer or joining your group to use yours.
We would like to hear about 3D Printing technologies and materials etc (advantages and disadvantages) and how to design for 3D Printing.
We meet on the 3rd Weds of each month at Grafham Room on the A281 just past Bralmey, Guildford. I am hoping we can arrange a talk in the New Year.
We can cover expenses but I am afraid we cannot offer a fee.
We have quite a bit of expertise of 3D printing in the space, myself included - however I’m also a ham (2E0JXG) and a lot of my half-finished projects revolve around various things I’ve designed and printed for the hobby of hobbies.
I’m usually a bit time-poor but I’d be happy to figure out a date in the new year to visit. The Christmas break should mean I’d have some time to prepare some slides for you.
As an alternative suggestion if it’s suitable for you and your members, you’d be welcome to come to the space in Badshot Lea for a talk outside of your monthly meetup, the benefit being is that we have quite a few printers at the space that can be used for demonstrations.
Hi Chris, sorry i didn’t get back to you soon but i needed to meet with the club to arrange.
Could we come over say Jan 15th or Feb 19th as these are our usual club nights?
We would be about 12 people all interested in 3d printing and the maker Space.
As I said before we are interested in making project boxes etc and antenna parts etc so an introduction to 3d printing technologies and design would be valuable.
