I’ve umm’ed and ahh’ed for a while about which 3D printer to build and I was on the verge of getting a Prusa i3, but last week Robin asked I’ve I’d looked at the Mendel90. After some more research I decided I’d get one. The kit arrived earlier this week and I’ve made a start.

Very nice choice, Graeme. What is the material the frame is made of? Dibond?
@makoto I’m looking forward to hearing the steppers sing to me.

@jagmills Yes it’s Dibond. Only 3mm thick but quite rigid (I’m resisting the temptation to attempt crude humour)
The only problem is knowing exactly what “do not over-tighten” means. I don’t think I have over-tightened but you can see still some surface deformation around the screw holes on mine. I’m not losing any sleep over it though.
I don’t think you’ve got anything to be concerned about is if you tighten them so much the polycarbonate cracks!
